First Responders holding Bears

Fargo, ND - Gate City Bank has announced a record-setting amount of teddy bears and stuffed animals donated to the Teddy Bear Posse this year. The numbers were announced earlier today at a press conference held at Gate City Bank in partnership with Midwest Radio of Fargo-Moorhead. Local law enforcement, ambulance, firefighters and others accepting the donation of the teddy bears and other stuffed animals were in attendance.

During this year's Teddy Bear Posse event, held from March 12 through May 14, 4,532 teddy bears and stuffed animals were donated at Gate City Bank locations. This led to a grand total of over 5,700 collected, a record-setting number.

“Gate City Bank is committed to providing a better way of life in the communities we serve. We are honored to have the opportunity to partner with the Teddy Bear Posse to comfort children during a vulnerable time,” said Steve Swiontek, President, Chairman & CEO of Gate City Bank. “We are overwhelmed by the support and generosity for the Teddy Bear Posse that we have seen from the community, our customers and our team members.”

“Year after year the Teddy Bear Posse reminds us of how caring and supportive our community is,” said Dan Cash, Vice-President/Market Manager at Midwest Radio of Fargo-Moorhead. “We are so pleased to announce another record year of donation will go directly to helping first responders that encounter children in need of the support that the bears provide.”

The Teddy Bear Posse was a campaign to collect new teddy bears and stuffed animals for area law enforcement agencies to distribute to small children involved in traumatic situations. Residents throughout the Red River Valley were encouraged to donate new teddy bears and stuffed animals at the donation boxes located throughout Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead through the radio stations of Midwest Radio of Fargo-Moorhead.
