Gate City Bank gives over $208,924 impacting 156 local organizations

In only three months, Gate City Bank has given over $208,924 to the communities they serve, impacting more than 156 organizations.

Gate City Bank supports their communities through philanthropic contributions, Acts of Kindness, volunteer efforts, My School Spirit program, BetterLife Student Loan Program, and in-kind donations such as reduced interest rate loans for non-profit organizations across North Dakota and western Minnesota.

One of the community programs that Gate City Bank supports through financial contributions is the FM Opera and the Young Artist Program. The Young Artist Program is the first of its kind in the region, bringing groups of young professionals to Fargo.

“Gate City Bank's support of the Young Artist Program at FM Opera has given us the opportunity to bring opera into classrooms, assisted living facilities, and to community organizations throughout our community.” said David Hamilton, General Director of the FM Opera and Young Artists Program.

“Gate City Bank is proud to support programs like this that enrich our communities and create a better way of life for everyone it reaches.” said Steve Swiontek, Gate City Bank Chairman, President & CEO.

In 2015, Gate City Bank started a new program called My School Spirit ATM and Check Card. This program has raised nearly $10,945 for participating schools. For every card ordered, Gate City Bank donates $5 to the designated school. There are currently 44 schools participating in the program.

Gate City Bank is committed to making life easier, convenient, and more rewarding so individuals can enjoy a better way of life. One way they do this is by offering the new BetterLife Student Loan program with no fees and a 1% APR. Currently, Gate City Bank has helped 67 home owners get into their new home.

“We’re more than a bank, we’re a community partner focused on the well-being of our customers, employees, and neighbors,” said Steve Swiontek, Gate City Bank Chairman, President & CEO. “We’ve built a tradition of serving our customers and being connected to our communities, and our employees embrace this tradition in making their communities a better place to live.”
