In February 2018, Gate City Bank surprised lucky Hornbacher’s shoppers by paying for their groceries in celebration of National Random Acts of Kindness Day.
“At Gate City Bank, we believe in making a difference,” said David Wrolstad, Senior Vice President of Retail Banking. “We do this through acts of kindness, including volunteerism and philanthropic giving. Random acts of kindness are important because they can be something as simple as holding the door for another person as they enter. The important thing is that we look for ways to put a smile on someone’s face and create a better way of life.”
National Random Acts of Kindness Day embodies Gate City Bank’s philosophy of supporting communities through positively impacting those around us. In 2017, Gate City Bank team members completed more than 800 acts of kindness, with a total of $1.95 million in charitable giving.
