First Bank Coming Soon to Horace, ND.

HORACE, ND – Gate City Bank is expanding into Horace. The first full-service bank planned for the community, the new location is expected to open in spring 2027.

The branch, which will be located at 6747 68 St. S., on the corner of 170th Ave. and Christianson Boulevard, will have drive-up lanes, an ATM and offer services such as personal checking, mortgages, auto loans, business banking, home equity loans, investments, insurance and commercial lending. The bank will also have free coffee and freshly baked cookies in the lobby.

“At Gate City Bank, we’re committed to creating a better way of life for the customers and communities we serve,” said Kevin Hanson, Gate City Bank President & CEO. “This expansion will help us support new neighborhoods, growing families and local businesses for years to come.”

The city of Horace is also looking forward to having a bank in the community.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Gate City Bank to Horace – the fastest-growing city in North Dakota,” said Horace Mayor Jeff Trudeau. “Having a trusted, community-minded business such as Gate City Bank is an exciting milestone. Their investment in Horace reflects their confidence in our city’s future, and we look forward to the positive impact they’ll bring to our residents, businesses and local economy.”

This expansion, which will be Gate City Bank’s 46th location in its 24th community across North Dakota and central Minnesota, marks another significant investment in the communities the Bank serves. At the same time, the Bank is also rebuilding its Mayville and Carrington locations with plans to open both in summer 2026 – showing its deep commitment to reinvest in communities where the Bank has had long-standing partnerships. Gate City Bank first opened its Mayville location in 1970 and Carrington in 1972. To ensure continued access and convenience for customers throughout the transition, the Bank opened mobile banking facilities in both communities.

“More than new buildings, these projects are a reflection of our investment in the future of North Dakota communities,” Hanson said. “Local banks are often the heartbeat of a community – supporting area schools, making the dream of homeownership a reality and offering a helping hand to neighbors during difficult times. As a mutual bank, we don’t report to shareholders, so we’re empowered to reinvest earnings back into the neighborhoods we serve and make decisions that put communities first.”
