Karin Rudd Receives 2021 Outstanding Arts Advocate Award

A long supporter of both local arts and making an impact in the communities she has served for more than 28 years, longtime Gate City Bank team member Karin Rudd is a true embodiment of what it means to make a difference.

Throughout her years of service to The Arts Partnership (TAP), a local nonprofit umbrella arts organization, Rudd has continued her advocacy and passion to serve. She was an active TAP board member from 2014-2020, serving as board chair for three of those years.

Rudd was nominated for the Outstanding Arts Advocate Award by a TAP board member, ultimately being approved by the full board with unanimous support.

“Karin stepped into a leadership role with The Arts Partnership at an important time of growth for us. With her guidance, TAP took significant leaps forward and became a much stronger arts advocacy entity,” said Dayna Del Val, President & CEO of The Arts Partnership. “I am grateful for her tenure on the board of directors and the active role she played with me to help us even better support local art.”

Rudd received the Outstanding Arts Advocate Award for her personal and professional engagement in TAP and regional arts. She received this prestigious award at the State of the Arts event that was held on June 24, 2021, in Fargo, ND.

“My work with TAP guided me to make a difference and raise awareness of the arts. Serving on their board continued to showcase the importance of creating and growing well-rounded, strategically creative individuals and communities,” Rudd said. “Art matters! From developing creative-thinking skills, growing confidence, cultivating artists, strengthening communities or beautifying a city, art is a necessity.”

Rudd has been an active member of the arts for nearly 30 years, beginning as a professional dancer and instructor with Red River Dance and Performing Company in 1993. Her passion for making a difference and supporting local art has helped create a better way of life, both personally and professionally. She currently serves on the board of directors for Fargo Moorhead Opera and is the treasurer for Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre (FMCT).
