If you live in North Dakota, you could be eligible for up to $1,600 toward what you owe in property taxes. Here’s how to make sure you get your tax credit.
North Dakota homeowners can now apply for the Primary Residence Credit (PRC). Newly expanded this year, the state property tax credit through the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner helps qualifying homeowners save up to $1,600 on property taxes.
Submit an online application at tax.nd.gov/prc by April 1. Once your application is approved, you’ll see a credit on your property tax statement. The application process is online only, so if you can’t apply online, call 701-328-7988 or 1-877-649-0112 for help.
Additional Property Tax Credits
While you can only apply for one Primary Residence Credit, you may also be eligible for other property tax credits, including the Homestead Property Tax Credit, which is based on age, disability and income, and the Disabled Veterans Property Tax Credit, which is available to U.S. Armed Forces veterans with a disability of 50% or more.
