Home Improvement Program Opens to Revitalize Neighborhoods.

FARGO, ND – Mature neighborhoods across North Dakota and central Minnesota are about to get a big boost as Gate City Bank joins forces with 14 cities on revitalization efforts.

Total Gate City Bank Investment in ND, MN Cities Since 2003 Reaches $127 Million.

Beginning March 16, local homeowners can apply for below-market interest rate loans from $10,000 to $100,000 to make repairs and home improvements.

Qualifying projects for the bank’s home improvement program range from patio additions and new garages to safety repairs like furnace replacements and accessibility adjustments. Funds may also be used to address code and structural corrections, energy improvements and general property upgrades.

Gate City Bank has been supporting and investing in this initiative for local communities since 2003, contributing $127 million overall. In 2026 alone, the bank has allocated more than $20 million. Programs will be available for the following cities:

North Dakota

  • Fargo ($2 million)
  • Bismarck ($2 million)
  • Grand Forks ($2 million)
  • West Fargo ($2 million)
  • Dickinson ($1 million)
  • Mandan ($2 million)
  • Jamestown ($1 million)
  • Wahpeton ($1 million)
  • Williston ($2 million)
  • Devils Lake ($1 million)

Minnesota

  • Moorhead ($2 million)
  • Sauk Rapids ($2 million)
  • East Grand Forks ($2 million)
  • Breckenridge ($1 million)

Each location may have varied rates and requirements, and projects must generally fall within the boundaries of participating cities.

Applications are:

  • Open for a limited time

  • Subject to credit qualification and a home evaluation

  • Reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available
