Ellen Knutson

VP, Retail Manager

Ellen Knutson serves as Vice President of Retail Banking in Minot, ND. Originally from Rugby, ND, she brings nearly 40 years of experience to the community. Ellen has served in multiple roles at Gate City Bank, including: senior customer service and sales supervisor, savings supervisor, senior teller, financial services representative, savings counselor and temporary microfilm clerk.

Outside of work, Ellen is heavily involved in the community. She serves as treasurer and board member for the Minot Area Homeless Coalition, works closely with the Minot Chamber of Commerce and serves as committee chair for the annual Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. She also volunteers regularly for Great Plains Food Bank, Souris Valley United Way and Souris Valley Animal Shelter, among other causes.

In her free time, Ellen enjoys volunteering, helping others, attending concerts, cooking and being with family, especially her three grandchildren. Most people don’t know that she enjoys writing short stories!

To Ellen, being a team member at Gate City Bank means being part of a company that believes in team members’ potential. Having started in a temp position, she’s so thankful for the countless advancement opportunities she’s experienced since. Among Gate City Bank’s Principles of High Standards, her favorite is Be a Leader because “in a world where many are asked to compromise their standards or beliefs, Gate City Bank has never done that. Integrity and honesty are two things I live by, and it’s a blessing to work for a company that has those same standards.”
