CARRINGTON, ND – After more than 50 years of serving Carrington, Gate City Bank is celebrating a new chapter with the opening of its new branch at 720 Main Street, a space designed to bring people together while delivering the personal service customers know and trust.
The community is invited to celebrate the Bank’s grand opening of its new Carrington location on Wednesday, July 29, with a ribbon cutting, local nonprofit donations, prize drawings and the chance for new customers to receive $2501 when opening their first Gate City Bank checking account July 30 or 31.
The celebration marks the completion of the Bank’s investment in a permanent new branch designed to serve Carrington families, businesses and future generations for years to come. It also marks the culmination of a rebuilding effort that kept Gate City Bank serving customers through a temporary mobile facility while a new permanent home took shape – a reflection of the Bank’s continued commitment to the Carrington community.
Community members are invited to be among the first to explore the new location, connect with local team members, enjoy fresh-baked cookies, cupcakes and coffee, and enter for a chance to win one of five $502 Carrington Cash gift card drawings. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. As part of the celebration, Gate City Bank will present $500 donations to both Meals on Wheels and Carrington’s Daily Bread Food Pantry and Healthy Communities Coalition Backpack Program, helping support local families and strengthening the community.

The full-service location was thoughtfully designed to create a comfortable, community-centered banking experience. Large windows, modern conveniences and welcoming gathering spaces create an environment where customers can comfortably meet with local bankers, enjoy a fresh-baked cookie and plan for what’s next. Featuring drive-up lanes, an ATM, a coin machine and modern banking technology, the new building reflects Gate City Bank’s commitment to providing personal service in an environment where customers feel right at home.
With lobby hours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the location offers a full range of financial services, including personal checking, mortgages, auto loans, business banking, home equity loans, commercial lending, investments and insurance.
After the original location sustained extensive damage following a water main break, Gate City Bank determined that constructing a new facility would provide the best long-term solution for customers and the Carrington community. Throughout the rebuilding process, the Bank maintained service through a mobile banking facility located next to the original building, ensuring customers continued to have access to the financial services they rely on.

Gate City Bank has 45 locations across 23 communities in North Dakota and central Minnesota. While rebuilding our Carrington location, we also rebuilt our branch in Mayville, ND, started construction on our 46th location in our 24th community in Horace, ND, and started construction on a new stand-alone location in Hettinger, ND. The Mayville location, which first opened in 1970, also operated a mobile banking facility during the transition, and is planned to open Tuesday, August 18. The new Hettinger location is planned to open this winter, and the Horace location is expected to open in late 2027.
