We didn’t let the COVID-19 pandemic prevent people with mobility challenges from having a blast in fall 2020. As part of HOPE, Inc.’s ninth annual fashion show, we donated $10,000 in Visa gift cards so participants could purchase stylish clothing for the virtual video event.
This fashion show is one of many programs offered by HOPE, Inc., which serves over 180 local families. The nonprofit provides sports and recreational opportunities critical to the health and development of children and adults with mobility challenges, helping them achieve their full potential.
The event had usually taken place at a physical location – most notably Horizon Middle School in Moorhead, MN – but in fall 2020 it was done via video, thanks to the support of Gate City Bank and others.
At Gate City Bank, our core purpose is to create a better way of life for customers, communities and team members. That includes supporting local nonprofits like HOPE, Inc. In the years leading up to 2020, we provided volunteers and logistical support to help make the fashion show a success. And while COVID-19 was an additional factor in 2020, we pushed forward, and it made a huge difference.
