Gate City Bank team members visit a citizen’s home to discuss smoke alarm safety

Preparing Communities With American Red Cross

We’re proud to partner with American Red Cross of Eastern North Dakota and Northwestern Minnesota on multiple initiatives, especially its annual Sound the Alarm events, which encourage community members and firefighters to join forces to be better prepared in the event of fires.

The Hot Cause That Sparked a Beautiful Partnership.

Home fires claim seven lives every day in the U.S., but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half, according to American Red Cross. That’s why Gate City Bank team members care so much about the Sound the Alarm initiative.

Team members partner with firefighters in going home to home to educate owners about fire safety, install free smoke alarms and replace alarm batteries. Since Gate City Bank joined the program, it’s regional impact has resulted in:

“At Gate City Bank, the gratefulness we have for our veterans and all they’ve sacrificed to serve us goes beyond words. One of many ways we’re saying thank you is by making sure they’re covered and kept warm with these beautiful quilts, which have love and appreciation in every stitch.”
